It's Time!!!

Hello all! 

 

I hope you have had a great summer filled with lots of fun and some rest and relaxation!  If you are like me, the time went way too fast and it is already time to get back into the groove of schooling and scheduled activities.

 

A few local activities...

 

-Tues. Sept. 13th (next week!)- Moms' Meeting at 6:30.  We will be meeting each month on the second Tuesday of the month at Cupcakes! in Winfield at 212 W. 9th.  This meeting come prepared to sign up for a monthly activity for the kids and also to sign up to host a meeting - dessert and/or topic.  Also, if you have any books/activities/curriculum that you aren't using and want to share, bring it to the meeting and maybe someone else could use it.

-  Monday Homeschool swim lessons are set for Sept 19 till Dec 15 from 1:00-2:00pm. All swim lessons are $25.00 per child.  Family Aquatic Center (Ark City Highschool Pool) parking and entrance on the East side of the building. Call Debbie Davidson (Aquatic Director) 441-2018 to register.

-  Wed. Sept. 21 - Cowley County Conservation Field Day at the Winfield Lake (4th & 5th graders only - a parent must attend)  see flyer attatched.

    Thurs. Sept. 29 -Homeschool Zoofari Day at the Sedwick County Zoo

Our blog will be updated with more info after we have had our meeting to schedule activies.  It also will have info on Chaplin Nature Center and Ark City swim classes.

Veteran's Day Volunteer Ceremony, April 27, 2011

Certificates were given to all volunteers of the Veteran's Home.  The homeschool group was honored for the program put on in February.  Those given certificates of appreciation were:  Hunter, Andrew, Aaron, Adah, Faith, Luke, Micah, Mitchell, Christopher, Sam, Zia, and Hayden.  Way to go, kids!

Home school families,

There will be no Park/Recenter Fridays for the month of February due to public school closings and Valentines parties.  (not to mention all the colds and flues going around)

Starting in March we will be back at the parks.  More news to come when March gets closer.
